Back... to the Future. Past Meets Present

March 13, 2015

It’s a story that has taken over 170 years to finish. It’s the story of the Arena District and in it there are tales of prisoners and farmers, railroad workers and early settlers.
This area was once a hub of manufacturing and transportation in Columbus, and today the Arena District is a hub of business and entertainment. This year the Arena District celebrate’s its 15th Anniversary and so we wanted to give you a tiny taste of our history.
Below you can compare one of the original watercolor renderings of the Arena District to an image that was taken at the NHL All-Star weekend held here in January, 2015. Both images are taken looking east on Nationwide Boulevard. The image on the right was taken from the top of the Columbia Gas Building, whereas the water color rendering was created from the street level. We think we landed pretty close. What do you think?
