When you’re looking for an intense workout to get your heart pumping, indoor cycling surely fits the bill. That puddle below your bike wasn’t there when you came in…
Whether you’re a purist or like to combine your ride with yoga or strength training, the Columbus indoor cycling scene has something for you. So grab your shoes and plenty of water, and get pedaling!

CYCLE614

Two words: themed rides. Whether “bad girls” of the music world, Beyoncé, the 80s, or top 40, you’re bound to find a themed ride to fit your fancy. If you’re looking for a quick ride, they offer “FriYAY” happy hour rides and Sunday “quick rides” where you’re in and out in about 30 minutes. And you won’t have to go far either: You’ll find the studio just a few minutes from campus in Grandview.

CYCLEBAR

Sometimes a workout should feel like a party—queue the music, intense video, and light show in their CycleTheatre. In addition to the musical themes, there are happy hour and brunch rides—score! You can join the workout/dance party at CycleBar at Easton and in Powell.

PAI YOGA FITNESS

If you like to mix it up, Pai in Gahanna or Dublin is your place. They offer three types of classes: classic spinning, spin core, and if you’re feeling ambitious, a spin/TRX combo. FYI: If you’ve never heard of it, TRX is suspension training using bodyweight created for Navy SEALs… so you know it’s going to burn.

THE FITNESS LOFT

If you’re in German Village or Olde Towne East, the Fitness Loft can’t be missed! With four cycling options—traditional cycling, circuit-focused, RPM express (40 minutes), and RPM by Les Mills (think intervals set to powerful music), you’re sure to find something you love. They also offer nearly every group fitness class imaginable including “Anything Goes!”, where you’ll be surprised by a different strength and cardio option each time.

DK FITNESS

Lighting up in Lewis Center, DK Fitness has a little bit of everything, including a 30-minute Spin Xpress class, their normal 45-minute class, TRX, and other bodyweight movement classes to keep your whole body toned! If you keep track of this sort of thing, they’ve got 20 bright and shiny Blade Spinner bikes.

ARENA DISTRICT ATHLETIC CLUB

We’re all busy, so how about getting a workout in before work or at lunch? For downtown dwellers or workers, Arena District Athletic Club checks all the boxes for convenience. No matter when you stop in, you get early morning classes, lunchtime options, and a convenient location with complimentary parking. It’s also perfect for cross-training: You’ll find cardio machines, free weights and more for when you want to switch it up!

COLUMBUS SPORTS CONNECTION

Right on High Street in Clintonville, Columbus Sports Connection offers tons of Spinning classes every week in addition to TRX, Pilates, and yoga. Bonus? They offer childcare for busy moms and dads. There’s also a full staff of personal trainers if you’re just getting started or don’t want to look like a fool behind a barbell.

TURNING POINT FITNESS

If you’re a fan of classes that aim for strong, lean muscles, Turning Point Fitness in Westerville is the place to go! Spinning, Barre, TRX, and Pilates group classes get the whole place rocking. That Spinning, though! Turning Point puts their own personal touch on with plenty of core work sprinkled throughout.
