It’s starting to warm up in Columbus, and if you’re a cyclist, you might be eager to hit the trails (if you haven’t suited up all winter and kept riding). Several road and mountain biking trails in and around Columbus offer a range of experiences from paved to unpaved, flat to hilly, and short to long.
The Dispatch compiled a list of the top 13 trails in the region according to AllTrails, a mobile app and website that compiles trails from around the world. Here’s what they are:
Road Biking
Scioto Trail Loop
Details: This scenic trail runs along the Scioto River in Downtown Columbus and loops from the Brewery District to the Arena District. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Mountain Biking
Scioto Trail North Bank
Details: This trail runs from North Bank Park to Battelle Riverfront Park along the Scioto River. It’s a popular trail for mountain biking, but you might get some solitude during non-peak hours.
