Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon 2022: What you need to know

For avid marathon runners in Greater Columbus, it will soon be time to lace up those sneakers!
The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon will kick off its 42nd year Oct. 16 at 7:30 a.m. at North Bank Park, 311 W. Long Street. The half marathon, now in its 16th year, will also begin at 7:30 a.m.
This year’s marathon will have the addition of 5K and 1 mile races Oct. 15. Both the 5K, and the 1 mile fun run and walk, will honor the legacy of Ohio State University and Olympic runner Jesse Owens and are being coordinated with the Jesse Owens Foundation according to a news release.
The 5K will take place at 11 a.m. at North Bank Park and is open for people ages 12 and older. Meanwhile, the 1 miler will start at 12:30 p.m. with anyone ages 6 and older eligible to participate.
With thousands of people headed Downtown, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to park. Come up with a parking plan ahead of race day, and try to get there early. This map shows multiple options for places to park in the Arena District.
